Twelve Holidays Stories, Edited by Stephanie Perkins
Synopsis: Twelve Holiday Stories by twelve best-selling young adult writers, edited by international best-selling author Stephanie Perkins. Whether you enjoy celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah, Winter Solstice or New Year’s there’s something here for everyone.
Reaction: I loved this book! I am really enjoying the Christmas books this time of year and this was by far the best one yet. It is always refreshing to read a bunch of short stories. They get straight to the point and don’t dwell on back story. You meet the characters, get a quick who are you, get a problem and a solution and everyone is happy!
These were all great stories but there were defiantly some i enjoyed more than others. The best ones were the following (by my opinion):
-Welcome to Christmas, CA by Kiersten White
-It’s a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown by Stephanie Perkins
-Angles in the Snow by Matt De La Pena
-The Lady and the Fox by Kelly Link
They were all great but these ones defiantly stood out above the rest. I was also very happy to see that there were stories about all the different holidays and celebrations that happen at this time of year as well as both male and female leads.
I think this is also a great introduction to author’s I might not normally have read like Jenny Han and Rainbow Rowell. Might I read some of their books next?! Stay tuned to find out.
If you are looking for a good easy and fun read this is defiantly one you should check out. Both teens and adult appropriate I think it’s great for all ages.
So as far as I am concerned after reading this….it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🙂
