What’s New Tuesdays—-December 15th 2015

The great things about new books is that if you want to get anyone a gift, there is a guarantee that they probably won’t have these books. It’s always less that come out around this time of year but each week I can guarantee that there is always one new book.

The Violinist of Venice: A Story of Vivaldi by Alyssa Palombo23848300

Category: Adult Fiction

Synopsis: Like most 18th century Venetians, Adriana d’Amato adores music-except her strict merchant father has forbidden her to cultivate her gift for the violin. But she refuses to let that stop her from living her dreams and begins sneaking out of her family’s palazzo under the cover of night to take violin lessons from virtuoso violinist and composer Antonio Vivaldi. However, what begins as secret lessons swiftly evolves into a passionate, consuming love affair.

Reaction: I think that anyone who loves the historical novel, especially ones with love story will LOVE this book! It sounds like it would be full of love, and history and rich descriptions. Those are the best kinds of history books. Plus it’s always romantic during this time in Europe!

Better Than Before: Mastering The Habits of Our Every Lives by Gretchan Rubin

Category: Self Help

Synopsis: Habits are the invisible architecture of our lives. Rubin provides an analytical and scientific framework from which to understand these habits–as well as change them for good. Infused with her compelling voice and funny stories, she illustrates the core principles of habit formation with dozens of strategies that she tests out on herself and others.

Reaction: This isn’t a new book, but it’s now in PAPERBACK!!! So much cheaper!

This is from the lady who brought you the book The Happiness Project. So anyone who is a fan of this lady I bet will be a fan of her book. I will admit I have never read her book, or a lot of self help for that matter, but I do get her daily inspirational quotes in my e-mail. They are nice.

I find only certain people read self help but I can see this one being a hugely popular one. Who doesn’t have habits that we all want to master? Only babies are perfect!

If you read this and it helps, drop me a line and let me know. I’d love to hear what you think.

Frozen Tides (A Falling Kingdoms Novel) by Morgan Rhodes

Category: Teen

Synopsis: The plans are laid and the players are determined…but nothing can prepare these unlikely warriors for what the elemental gods of Mytica have in store.

Reaction: Anyone who loves this series will eat this up. I have the first few to read and a copy of Spirit and Thieves to read that was signed by Morgan herself. So yes I have met her and she is a very nice lady. I guess I should get on these if there is a new one out. It’s one of those fantasy teen novels and people love them. I have a feeling this one will be a bit hit.

Funny thou, it wasn’t suppose to come out till today but some stores were a little ahead of the times and already put it out so I saw on line some bloggers already got copies.

I must say it’s the most beautiful cover out of all of the new ones today.

These sure are some gems and I will prob get them all for my library. It’s not a problem, it’s a happy ending 🙂
