Category: 3-5 Storybook
I am not going to do a synopsis for this book because if you don’t know this beloved Christmas song than you have been living under a rock for basically the last 20 years.
I must say the premise for the book thou is about a little girl getting a puppy and not a man. That would be weird and creepy and wrong on so many levels so I am super happy that was changed.
This is hands down one of the best Christmas songs ever, and there have been a lot. It has been a huge hit for Mariah Carey and is always on the top 100 chart every holiday season.
I was lucky enough to received this book as “book mail” from Random House. So a big thanks to this, it will be loved ❤
Reaction: I was excited when I saw this book was coming out and even more excited when I saw it in the store when it came out. I am actually surprised this did not happen earlier. As they say thou, better late than never.
It’s a beautiful book. The illustrations are wonderful and it’s an easy read for little kids and older ones. Pages full of colour and light.
Plus the message is nice of course. Presents don’t matter all she wants is the love of a puppy. I have a dog, I get it.
My only problem with this book, and yes there is one. Is the fact I can’t read it properly. I see the words and want to read them normal but it all comes out in song because I know the song and it just doesn’t sound right if it isn’t sung.
Any kid who doesn’t know the song won’t know the difference and will love it, but for us older people who know this song it will be a problem to read.
There are worse things.
